COVID-19?

Is there any COVID-19 measures?

Short answer is no.

  • All mandatory mask-wearing requirements are lifted with effect from 1 March 2023. However, citizens entering certain venues such as medical facilities or residential care homes for the elderly or residential care homes for persons with disabilities still need to follow the administrative mask-wearing requirement.

  • Considering the balance between infection risks and resumption of economic and livelihood impetus, the Government decided to cancel the arrangement of issuing isolation orders to infected persons according to the Prevention and Control of Disease Regulation (Cap. 599A) from January 30.

Visa?

Wondering if you need a visa for Hong Kong?

Visitors from most countries are not required to obtain a visa and can stay for periods varying from 7 days to 180 days, depending on your nationality.

Visa requirements vary depending on your passport, Hong Kong has a separate immigration policy from Mainland China. Under the existing visa-free visit regime, nationals of about 170 countries and territories may visit Hong Kong without a visa/entry permit for a period ranging from 7 days to 180 days.

For more information on visa/entry permit requirements for visitors to the HKSAR, you may refer to the “Visit Visa / Entry Permit Requirements for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region” webpage.

In general, all visitors to Hong Kong must have a passport that is valid for at least one month after the period of their intended stay!

When?

What period should I stay in Hong Kong?

It's up to you! You can stay as long as you want, but make sure your arrival and departure time does not clash with the Final Pitching & Award Ceremony (June 24, 10:00 - 17:00 HKT).

You might need to consider the flight cost and hotel cost for a longer trip in Hong Kong. But of course, we are more than happy to welcome you here.

Support?

Will the PolyHack support me before and during my trip in Hong Kong?

We offer 24/7 support in Discord to answer your questions before and after arriving in Hong Kong. We will try our best to make your flight and stay in Hong Kong smooth and comfortable.

However, as a student and non-profit organisation, we do have to note that we do not bear any responsibility or liability for any incident, accident, or injury when you are in Hong Kong. This is a voluntary participation, and you are strongly advised to purchase global travel insurance beforehand.
