Terms and Conditions

Overview

PolyHack is an international hybrid hackathon event that provides an opportunity for students to develop innovative software and hardware solutions to solve real-world problems. The event is organised by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Google Developer Student Club, and participation in the event is subject to these terms and conditions.

Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in PolyHack, you must:

  • Be a currently enrolled student at an accredited academic institution.

  • Register for the event through the official registration process.

  • Pay any applicable registration fees.

  • Agree to abide by the Code of Conduct and any other rules or regulations established by the event organisers.

Registration and Fees

To register for PolyHack, you must complete the official registration form and pay any applicable registration fees. The registration fee, if any, will be clearly stated on the event website or registration form. Registration fees are non-refundable, except in cases where the event is cancelled by the organisers.

Intellectual Property

Participants retain ownership of any intellectual property they create during the event, subject to the following:

  • By participating in PolyHack, you grant the event organisers a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display any materials you create during the event for promotional or educational purposes.

  • Any pre-existing intellectual property that you bring to the event remains your property, subject to any licences or agreements that you have in place.

Liability

Participants are responsible for their own safety and well-being during the event. The organisers of PolyHack are not responsible for any injuries, losses, or damages that may occur as a result of participation in the event. By registering to the event, participants agree to the PolyHack Liability Waiver.

Media Release

Cancellation

The organisers of PolyHack reserve the right to cancel the event at any time, for any reason. In the event of cancellation, registered participants will be notified as soon as possible, and any registration fees paid will be refunded.

Modification of Terms and Conditions

The organisers of PolyHack reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time, without notice. Any such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting on the event website. Participants are responsible for regularly reviewing these terms and conditions to ensure compliance.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

By registering for PolyHack and participating in the event, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, as well as the Code of Conduct, Liability Waiver, Media Release and any other rules or regulations established by the event organisers.
